چکیده

Appending carbazolyl groups to a hexaphenylsilole core yielded thermally and morphologically stable carbazolylsiloles; the silole carrying two carbazolyl peripheral groups showed photovoltaic activity.

A DFT approach to the charge transport related properties in columnar stacked π-conjugated N-heterocycle cores including electron donor and acceptor units.

We present a density functional theory (DFT) study on charge-transport related properties in a series of discotic systems based on 1,3,5-triazine and tris[1,2,4]triazolo[1,3,5]triazine central cores as electron acceptor units, and phenyl-thiophene and N-carbazolyl-thiophene segments as electron donor units. The presence of both electron donor and acceptor moieties in the π-conjugated core could...

Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Studies of the Effects of π-donor Ligand and B18N18 Nanoring Field on Energy Gaps

To investigation non-bonded interaction of the [CuF4]2- complex inside nanoring, we focus on the single wall boron-nitride B18N18 nanoring. Thus, the geometry of B18N18 nanoring has been optimized by B3LYP method with EPR-II basis set and geometry of the [CuF4]2- complex has been optimized at B3LYP method with Def2-TZVP basis set and Stuttgart RSC 1997 Effective Core Potential. Also electronic ...

The Ugi four-component reaction as a concise modular synthetic tool for photo-induced electron transfer donor-anthraquinone dyads

Phenothiazinyl and carbazolyl-donor moieties can be covalently coupled to an anthraquinone acceptor unit through an Ugi four-component reaction in a rapid, highly convergent fashion and with moderate to good yields. These novel donor-acceptor dyads are electronically decoupled in the electronic ground state according to UV-vis spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. However, in the excited state t...

Chromenes involving a two-photon absorbing moiety: photochromism via intramolecular resonance energy transfer

New derivatives involving the photochromic 2H-benzo[h]chromene moieties covalently linked to the 2,7-bis(carbazolyl)fluorene-derived two-photon absorbing moiety were designed to enable the possibility of resonance energy transfer from the fluorene donor to the photochromic acceptor. The longest wavelength absorption of the photochromic acceptors overlaps with the fluorescence band of the two-ph...
